Happy Fancy Drink Friday!!
With that amazing-ness out of the way, let me bring you to TONIGHTS fancy drink..
It's been a minute, so let me bring you up to speed.
Last weekend I headed to Madison to be an official for the Ironman Wisconsin 70.3 and 140.6.
Got up to Madison Friday about 11 to meet up with our myTeam Triumph crew and soon to be Ironmen.
Lunch at the Great Dane (yum)! Love their nachos!
Then off to hand out timing chips to athletes.
About 4:30 finished up with them and headed to check into the hotel for the weekend.
Next up, officials meeting at Menona Terrace.
Followed by dinner.
Back to the hotel to get off my feet and relax.
Sat morning up early and off to transition by 5am.
Spent 4 hours on the back of a motorcycle and gave out a few penalties (drafting mostly).
Now for lunch! Cantina across the street from the hotel for another round of nachos!
After food, it was back to finish transition for the 140.6 and official meeting.
By 6pm it was time to call it a day and get dinner.
Met up Corey for our mTT group in the Fox Valley area for ddinner.
No not nachos again, but tacos at Tipsy Cow.
Also yum!
From there I was off to bed!
Sunday, 140.6 race day.
The weather was NOT on anyone's side. It rained ALL day! Nonstop!
We watched athlete after athlete turn in their timing chip and call it quiets. Including a few pro athletes.
I am happy to report our myTeam Triumph team ROCKED the event (rain and all).
Ed swam the 2.4 mile swim like he had nothing better to do...
Jim and Ed took on the 112 mile bike like a stroll in the park...Larissa took on the 26.2 in full Ironman mode (beast mode). Broke wheel and all!
In 16hrs 1 minute and 44 seconds, this 4 man team (3 angels and 1 outstanding captain) reached the finish line.
None of us could more MORE proud of them!
I wanted to go classic. Nothing to flashy, and simple.
So, without further ado.....
Classic Tom Collins:
Here is what you need:
2oz of your favorite gin
1/2oz simple syrup
1oz lemon juice
Club soda
Add gin, syrup, and lemon juice to shaker with ice.
Shake until cold.
Strain over ice in your favorite glass.
Top with club soda.
Enjoy!

The drink sounds good, but I loved reading about the weekend and seeing the pictures! Well done to you and the other athletes! Very impressive!
